Mage: one who works Magic.
Practitioner: one who practices Magic.
The distinction (if in fact there is any) between a Practitioner and a Mage is that the former uses Magic, while the latter makes is a part of their day to day life. For most purposes, we will consider the two terms to be equivalent.
